I fell off. Hard. I knew I was off when I stopped doing 2 things in particular, which are crucial for success. I was on track, practically accelerating. Then one day, I wasn’t. Within a blink of an eye, I began to regress, immensely. As if nothing I’ve done mattered when in fact, weeks, damn near months went by and I didn’t realize the regression.

#1 I stopped going to therapy. Talk about a major L.
# 2 I stopped making plans to achieve G O A L S. And that left me stagnant.

I used to always make plans to do things and complete tasks and sometimes I completed them and other times I didn’t. Nonetheless, by the end of the day turned week, turned month, I always questioned why I was never closer to my GOALS. Then I realized, I wasn’t planning correctly. The way I completed tasks never really got me closer to my goals and that made them feel harder to attain. Then I realized, you have to plan BACKWARDS.

So I created this goal planner in 2017 and design wise, I’ve come a tremendous long way. I put a lot into this because I figured someone like me would appreciate this as much as I did and still do and value the clarity it would bring to them. The purpose of my Goal Planner is to help you get a better view of your macro-goals and then assess your micro-goals and tasks that will keep you in line and in check to make sure by the end of the year, you’re knocking things out, getting shit done, and smashing your goals out the park.

Two things I stopped doing that threw me off my game: not going to therapy and no longer properly planning my goals. And while I’m happy to say I’ll be back visiting my therapist soon, I’ll also be doing the reallll footwork and properly planning my goals and achieving them. Because of this, I’ve decided to launch my 100% interactive 2020 Goal Planner for FREE.99 on my website for you to also demolish your goals and get on track.

So tell me, what’s 3 goals you plan to achieve next year and how do you plan to go about them? Comment them below then go jot them down with the your free interactive download. I also have a special surprise coming up in a few weeks related to this so be sure to stay tuned 👀

How do you feel about yourself? No, but really, how do you feeeeel about yourself? I never under self-esteem, what anxiety was, or how depression has impaired me for the long run. How do ppl have high self-esteem? Where did that come from? What the hell is anxiety anyway and why as an adult that I finally can relate, can’t I still properly describe it? Who would’ve ever wondered that depression would lead me to a road of self-destruction, self-hatred no matter what the hell mountaintops I accomplish, self-sabotage, and millions of suicidal ideations to this exact very moment?

Dealing with my mother’s vapidly growing physical mental health, to my autistic twin brother’s outbursts, to being an entrepreneur, to always having to rely on social media for income, to burnout culture, to misunderstandings with friends, to trying to staying afloat monetarily, to never being content with what I currently have, to first world problems, to outer world problems, and much more, how the hell am I and others supposed to be mentally stable and healthy to deal with these day to day struggles and still be a functioning, non-criminal, human of society? I’m exhausted typing this as I ask the question.

November 10th at 2pm, @thekennwalker has sponsored a panel for us to discuss all things under the mental health umbrella. From suicide, to burnout culture, and more. A conversation for millennials, black ppl, black ppl in Detroit, millennial black ppl in Detroit, and more, I urge you all to slide through. And guess what? The tickets are FREE.99. Hosted by @quemorgan and with myself and others on the panel, I don’t think you’d want to miss this. Link in @thekennwalker’s bio. I can’t wait to see you there.

Nudity, but make it fashion.

I love my leotard from @astrthelabel specifically for 3 reasons:

1) it’s a thong. Most leotards make me feel like a child because it covers most of my buttocks. Not only is this seamless for dresses and pants but it’s most suitable and comfortable to me bc I usually wear thongs anyway.

2) it’s corduroy! I love corduroy - fun fact. And they do an amazing job, stylishly bring back a material that hasn’t seen the light of new trends in almost 3 decades.

3) the color is amazing and right on time for fall.

Get your thong, ready for fall, corduroy leotard 👉🏾 that way at @astrthelabel
You won’t regret 😉

How do you utilize the Direct Message feature on Instagram? Do you use it for leisure? Do you use it for sharing memes in group chats with friends? Do you use it to 'shoot your shot' with a potential significant other?

I'll tell you a secret: it's all I do.

Guys have this interesting theory when sliding into a girl's DMs: "slide in as many as you can...eventually one will say yes," and I've been running with this theory ever since.

Social Media Managers of your favorite brands almost always see your DM even if they leave the message unread in the DM requests. The goal is to give them a reason to respond. If you get a response, they may tell you to reach out to them via the generic email in their profile. However, you don't want a generic info@InsertBrandHere.com. Emails to generic email addresses can get lost on the way to whom you're hoping it'll get to or you could never get a response. You want a specific name to a marketing director that can get you answers to how you can participate in paid collaborations faster.

Why you should start using Direct Messages to reach out to brands: • it's faster
• your Instagram profile serves as an immediate resume so they never have to leave the app
• if they find that you are a good fit (because you've fixed the 7 struggles we mentioned in my previous post), they're more than likely to respond almost immediately
• you can build relationships with the marketing manager faster that will be beneficial to you for future partnerships

Now that we have that understanding, it's important you know what to say to get an answer when you slide in the DMs of a brand. You need to ask for the marketing manager in charge of the brand and you want to give them a reason to give you that person's direct contact. Without that reason, they'll direct you to the generic email already on the page.

The reason that you want to give is that you want to send over your media kit to the marketing manager. Brands love seeing data about how you can bring value to them. When you do this, you will almost always receive the answer you're looking for.

So tell me now, are you sliding in DMs the right way? Comment below. I wanna hear how you slide in✍🏾
